Mission Statement
Teens on the Scene is a teen-led organization that provides teenagers opportunities to volunteer at various philanthropies across Santa Barbara. Volunteering their time and effort, these teenagers not only give back to their community but they also gain valuable leadership skills.
History
Founded in 2013 by three high school students Zachary Werner, Arman Banan and Jack Cantin. The three classmates realized that many Santa Barbara youth were interested in helping the community but didn’t know how to go about it. They started Teens on the Scene as a group to introduce pre-teens and teens to community service while teaching leadership skills.
In 2015, Aidan Banan, Lauren Cantin, and Amelia Kot co-founded Teens On The Scene class of 2021, which made the organization co-ed, and consciously provided accessibility to all interested teens. A group that started with ten founding members, now has over 250 volunteers and is a school club at six junior high and high schools in Santa Barbara County.
